Healthcare Economics Instagram Story Mock-Up

Overview

I was brought on as a Design Intern at VirtuSense and had a hand in several projects in the marketing department throughout the course of my summer internship. I was able to build upon strong existing skills, such as design, and work on new ones, such as podcast editing. It was a chance for me to become a better designer and work towards also being a jack of all trades.

Process

Although my processes for every project looked a little different, there was an underlying general strategy that I followed for all of them. I would first meet with my internship lead or a marketing member and would ask questions, collaborate on a plan, and make sure I got a full understanding of the project. I would go on to either sketch or make preliminary drafts of the project, thinking about how I could involve branding, keep certain elements from the original idea, and refine the project to make it easier to understand. Drafts were then sent back to who requested the project and my internship lead where I would receive feedback and adjust the draft as necessary until we got it just right.

Solutions & Results

The results from these projects accelerated promotion for the company and gave additional content to the department for internal use. Any stories added content to the company social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram, diagrams gave references for discussion points, and any copywriting, research, and podcast editing was posted on all forms of media (the company blog, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn). I learned about designing material to work within brand guidelines, revising projects effectively with feedback, conceptualizing beneficial ideas, and seeing where I can make an impact or use my skills to communicate an idea.
